If you’ve heard of Japanese Manga, then it’s highly likely that you’ve heard of Akira. The 1988 Sci Fi explosion by Katsuhiro Otomo that took Japan and later, the world, by the nuts. Here at Vincent Van Doodle we present our Akira Movie Poster, capturing the best of the most famous anime of all time.
About Our Akira Movie Poster
It’s a brutal, beautiful post apocalyptic epic picture, at times being really quite violent and disturbing. Otomo, who wrote the manga comic version before the film was adapted, insisted he have total creative freedom over the entire production. Hence, it’s an utterly mental thrill-ride into a future neo-Tokyo, riddled with dangerous minds and even more dangerous kids.
Nothing really symbolises Akira better than the red MotorBike from Kaneda’s Biker Gang, parked up in the dark, neon-lit streets. We’ve also incorporated the nuclear detonation so infamous from the later stages of the film. If you’re an ultra geek and love your Anime enough to understand Katakana, you’ll see Akira written, slashed across the front in Japanese.
