As far back as we can remember, we always wanted to be ….designers. Not gangsters. We’ve seen Goodfellas too many times to want to become a Gangster. The Goodfellas Movie Poster is rough, red, dark and dreamy. We’ve tried to include essences of all the characters and the blood red of the streets.
About Our Goodfellas Movie Poster
Here we have De Niro, Pesci and Ray Liotta all together telling us the Life of Henry Hill, an up and coming Mafia Mobster rising through the ranks of the Italian Syndicate.
Like many Mafia classics that inspired the likes of The Sopranos, Goodfellas is about people, relationships and Human behaviour pushed to extremes. It’s also bloody funny with 3 stella performances.
We love some of the trivia that came out of this film. Of course it’s based on a real guy, but there were runours that real Italian Mafia were included in the Film to add authenticity.
Scorsese directed every scene with precision and even personally dressed the cast, not even letting Liotta do his own tie. However, the dinner scene with Tommy’s mother was almost completely improvised by the cast members, including Tommy asking his mother if he could borrow her butcher’s knife. Awesome!
The “How am I funny?”quote is based on an event that actually happened to Pesci while working in a restaurant as a kid. Joe, not thinking it’d cause offence, told a mobster that he was funny, which was met with a stoic response. Pesci told Scorsese all about this who in turn decided to include it in the film. Scorsese didn’t let on to Liotta what he was doing, nor did he include the dialogue in the script. You’ll notice that scene elicits real nervy reactions from both Liotta and the supporting cast, and utter relief at the end. Scorsese was a genius.
